Nursery Autumn Concert

Sammy banner 600wThis year the Nursery Autumn Concert was based on the sweet tale of Sammy, 'The Seagull Who Came to Stay’ by author Patricia Stewart. It tells the tale of Bertie Bunny and his family and their search for a bigger burrow on the edge of Farmer Smith’s field. They find time to make friends with the grumpy seagull, Sammy, who is in need of help.

The Nursery children had practised songs with music teacher Mrs Morrison to accompany this tale of friendship and fun. The children sang enthusiastically on the morning of the concert and we enjoyed hearing songs such as ‘Big, Red Combine Harvester’, which is a firm Nursery autumnal favourite, and traditional songs with reworded lyrics such as ‘Sammy Seagull Fly Away’ and ‘There Once Was a Seagull Who Was Sick, Sick, Sick’.

Thank you to all parents and grandparents for coming to our concert and supporting the children. They gave such a lovely performance and we enjoyed all of their efforts. Thank you also to author, Patricia Stewart, for attending and gifting the nursery a very special copy of ‘The Seagull Who Came to Stay’.
