Dr Helen Czerski, Physicist, TV Presenter and Author: WALKER SERIES Speaker Event

The Ocean at the Top of the World

In the summer of 2018, Dr Helen Czerski spent two months on an icebreaker close to the North Pole, one of forty researchers on a huge expedition to study Arctic weather. In this talk, Helen will discuss what they found, why it matters, and the future of the Arctic region. There will be stories of ice, bears and ships, and the science that made it all worthwhile…

On Thursday 6 December, we welcome Dr Helen Czerski to St George's School as part our STEM week to share her experiences as a research physicist.

Dr Helen Czerski, is first and foremost a physicist, but also an oceanographer, TV and radio presenter, author and bubble enthusiast.

Her first book, Storm in a Teacup, was published in the UK in November 2016 and has been translated into 14 languages. Her second book, Bubbles, has been published this month.

This event is open to St George's School community and the general public.
