Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Friday afternoon, the Big Owls visited Houldsworth House, St George’s boarding house, in order to see for themselves where the girls who stay in school sleep and spend their free time. A House Parent welcomed us and took us on a walk around the different areas of the House.
We saw where the girls keep their personal things and their beds. We visited the common room and had the chance to sit on the comfy sofas while some of us played at the football table. The common room had a “biiiiiiiig” bookcase and a piano!
Our next stop was the study room where the older girls do their homework. We loved sitting on the spinning chairs! All this walking made the girls feel hungry, so we had a nice treat in the kitchen. We ate biscuits and apple and had some juice and milk.
The view of the gardens from the kitchen was amazing, so we decided to go on a little adventure outside to find an apple tree. Our visit ended there with the girls chatting away and asking questions about their visit. We would like to thank the Houldsworth House staff for giving us the opportunity to visit this beautiful Victorian house and experience what it is like to be a boarder at St George’s School.
