Exam leave at Houldsworth

I arrived at Houldsworth last week in the build-up to my mock exams. I was ready to settle in and start revising. My room was really big and I was sharing with two other girls who made me feel at home right away. The food was really nice - I enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara the most, especially with garlic bread!

I was involved in lots of craft activities during the week, making pompoms with Miss Williams in 5pm club, necklaces and anklets with beads with the other boarders and wind chimes on Sunday as our evening activity.

In between revising, I was also in the office applying for work experience placements, girl guides volunteering and a place on Queen’s University summer school. The houseparents were really helpful and I’m looking forward to hearing back from my applications.

It was really nice to relax with the other boarders in the evening. We played games, watched movies, chatted and did crafts to relax and unwind. I visited the local shopping centre during the week and picked up the ingredients for our detox smoothies over the weekend. My favourite was the kale, cucumber and lemon smoothie - surprisingly good!

I really enjoyed my week at Houldsworth and will be returning very soon as Houldsworth is a home away from home.
