Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Saturday 16 March, I volunteered to help at the Junior School Open Morning with eight other boarders. It was raining and snowing that day, so we were pleased so many families attended the event. Since we are Upper 6, we led tours for a few families to help them get to know how the school works. The St George's Centre, PE department, RMC, Everest Pavilion and Art Block were open for touring. One parent was curious about mathematics at school. Alex, who studies Advanced Higher Mathematics, explained her experience to him and compared the different education systems at her old school and St George’s.
Another parent asked about science subjects at school, and we talked about the topics taught in the three sciences. The visitors appreciated the number of musical instruments in the RMC and the alternatives for their daughters to learn different instruments.
We really enjoyed volunteering at the Open Morning, chatting with the parents and also helping them to get to know St George’s better.
