Exam results 2

Today Lower 6 students received their GCSE results, of which they should feel very proud. In the new system, broadly the same proportion of students should achieve grades 9 to 4 as would have gained grades A* to C and in these revised, tougher courses it is encouraging to see that 94% of our entries met this standard and 50% gained grades 9 to 7, the equivalent of A and A*. 16% of all entries achieved the very highest grade, a 9, which is designed to indicate exceptional achievement.

All of these results reflect the hard work and dedication of students and staff and, most importantly, will provide them with the passport that they need to enter the next stage of their lives. Our exam candidates combine their work with a full co-curricular programme. This is the rounded education which will serve them so well as they encounter the challenges that life will serve up to them, giving them not only excellent credentials on paper, but also depth and breadth of character which will never leave them.
