For European Day of Languages in Lower School, we held an assembly about the importance of languages which was given from a refugee's point of view, imagining how it would feel to arrive at a new school in a different country without understanding a single word of the language.
In P6 a poster competition was held to see who could best demonstrate their artistic skills to show the importance of languages in our world today.
Removes and Lower 4s used Duolingo in class to try and learn a new language.
For all the students and staff of Lower School, a very successful bake sale was held to raise money for Edinburgh Direct Aid, a charity which helps refugees in need.
Overall, for European Day of Languages, Lower School successfully explored the importance of languages around the world, for people in different circumstances.
