Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
The Nessie Bin is large yellow bin that you can put old clothes, shoes and linen in, no matter what state they are in. Somebody comes to collect the bin, weigh the contents and pay the school the money that we have earned.
Many girls in Lower School contributed to the collection and there were so many items that the bin was overflowing! The Nessie man came to collect all the goodies and he was very surprised and impressed with the amount we had collected. He paid us £104 and the Eco committee were very delighted, as this money will go towards our new pond project. Altogether, the whole school raised about £200.
Over the Christmas holidays it would be good for the school if the pupils had a big clear out of clothes they don’t need anymore and bring them in to school next term. Hopefully we can raise even more money than we did this term!
Thank you to all the people who contributed to the bin, to Nessie for the money and Mrs Sinclair for organising all of it.
