Blogs and News - St George's School, Edinburgh
Inspired by Roald Dahl, the Primary 3 girls have launched into their topic, starting with the Enormous Crocodile. They have painted their own enormous crocodile and added large sharp teeth, demonstrating their knowledge of number bonds to 20. They have written amazing descriptions of the crocodile using interesting and exciting adjectives and wow words and they have acted out an alternative ending to the story. The girls ‘interviewed’ the Enormous Crocodile and answered questions when it was their turn to be the crocodile with entertaining answers. They have also made crocodile traps to ensure that the Enormous Crocodile does not plan any more clever tricks to attempt to eat children.
The girls are looking forward to the next Roald Dahl story, James and the Giant Peach and to some outdoor learning in our Fantastical Forest to look for some of the minibeasts mentioned in the story. On Friday next week, we will be holding a Roald Dahl Day to celebrate his birthday and the girls will come dressed in his favourite colour or in Roald Dahl themed clothes.
