Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Options decisions as students at St George's School for Girls move from Upper 5 (S4) to Lower 6 (S5) offer a point of review about areas of interest, requirements for next steps and what each girl wants her final two years in school to offer academically, alongside her co-curriculum interests.
Yesterday evening, Mrs Hems and Mrs Edwards gave short presentations to students and parents about the structure of the sixth form curriculum and subject pathways. Following the presentations, students will meet with staff this week to discuss courses and there will be individual meetings with senior staff prior to final submissions.
St George's School for Girls offers flexibility in making options decisions, with each girl selecting the subjects that interest her rather than being guided by fixed columns. We believe that this approach allows each individual to be supported appropriately, with a selection of subjects that will offer inspiration and relevant pathways to her at this important stage in school.
