Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Primary 3 have enjoyed being back in school this week; catching up with their friends and teachers and working really hard in the classroom. We have continued our rainforest topic, and have been learning about the animals of the rainforest. We made some made cheeky hanging monkeys to add to the toucans and snakes that we made during supported home learning and these are now all taking pride of place in our classroom display. We each presented a short talk on our favourite rainforest animal to the class and in outdoor learning, we worked in small groups and acted out our animals and tried to show their characteristics, habitat and diet through our body language and facial expressions. We also wrote some wonderful acrostic rainforest poems, full of interesting adjectives and exciting vocabulary.
In Maths, we have been learning how to divide by 2 and 10. We enjoyed our active maths sessions where we used our classmates to show different division sums.
We have loved being able to have lunch in the St Geroge's Centre again with our friends and then playing with them afterwards in the playground.
