Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
The day when I heard we were going back to school, my heart was full of joy. I rushed about finding the things I needed for school. I thought it was splendid that this was happening, but a tiny bit nervous. I thought about meeting my friends and teachers in person and I thought about the classrooms and play areas. I didn’t feel scared, just a bit nervous. I was so happy and excited; I couldn’t go back to sleep. I was already wishing that it was Sunday, and I could wake up to find that it was a school day.
When it really was a school day I stepped through the gates and negative thoughts struck me, but I was too overwhelmed and excited to notice. When I first met Hannah and Nuriya, I felt a big smile spread on my face. It was so joyous! I wasn’t really used to it. I was nervous that I would forget everything and not know where things were. The things that I thought were best, was having more time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air, getting up to fun activities and taking time off the screen more. It’s been helping me get used to feeling how I did before. I was delighted and glad to be back!
