Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
In Primary 2, we have been very busy planting! We learnt that before we are ready to plant, we need to prepare the planters properly by adding topsoil, compost and water. We have sown rocket, carrot and radish seeds. Now, we need to water our plants regularly. We hope that we can harvest some of our plants before the summer holidays!
Inspired by plants, we have been trying out different artistic techniques of drawing and painting trees. We painted blossom trees and used different shades of pink to finger paint the blossoms. We also sketched daffodils by carefully observing the shades of colours as well as the effect of light. This week we also wrote acrostic poems to describe our favourite flowers. We like this style of poetry!
