Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
Our online exchange has been a unique and enjoyable experience. Instead of travelling to North America, we stayed in Scotland and decided to share our experiences through the online platform Padlet. We have made new friends and learnt a bit more about Canada, Philadelphia, and Fort Worth in Texas.
On the first day of our exchange week, we made ceilidh dance tutorials and filmed a tour of the school that we shared with our partners. On the second day, we had a walking tour of Edinburgh Old Town and took photos of places like St Giles Cathedral and Holyrood Palace. We also had a competition to win a St George's Dragon teddy. On day three, we visited Stockbridge and went down the Water of Leith.
To keep in touch with North America, we went to an American chain restaurant called Five Guys to eat lunch. We made our own Highland Games out of various objects and shared some of our week with my exchange partner from Canada over a Teams call. This was very enjoyable as we told them what we had gotten up to so far and what we still had to look forward to, alongside some questions from the rest of the girls finding out more about St Clement's and what life is like over in Canada at the moment, and in non-Covid times. Our last day we went to North Berwick and had fish and chips and sat by the beach and wrote postcards to our partners.
I really enjoyed this week and found it a good way to communicate, even when there is a pandemic, we were all still able to have fun and enjoy our exchange programme.
