Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Wednesday 17 November we had a ‘Maths Circle’ event with the Removes. We were spilt into groups and went into different classrooms. It was fun to be in the Remove classrooms and see where we would be working next year!
Each table had a different mathematical activity which we worked on with our Remove partners. Some of the activities were very easy but some were challenging. Some had blocks or counters which made it fun too. One of our favourites was a game where you had to take one or two counters out of the pile each time and see who got to pick up the last ones – that team was the winner. The shape coding and cube building were also very popular! When the cow bell was rung, we changed rooms and got some different activities.
We had a great morning and loved doing maths that was not using a textbook! It was also good to work with the Removes and meet some of our future teachers!
