Blogs and News - St George's School, Edinburgh
Lower 5 pupils, Josie, Maighdlin, Connie, Heather, Thalia and Kiana took part in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, supported by the Wood Foundation. Split into groups, each group researched the work of a charity that is of interest to them. The process lasts around 4 months, culminating in them making a presentation about the work of their chosen charity as they go head to head with the other groups to try to win £3000 for their charity. This year's winning group were promoting the work of Canine Concern Scotland Trust (Therapet). They made such an impact with their emotive presentation that we are now investigating ways in which we can establish long term links between Therapets and St George's so that we can benefit from their services in school. The photo includes (the girls left to right) and Mel Hughes from Canine Concern Scotland Trust (Therapet) and Ollie the therapet. Well done girls!
