Emma-Louise Beeson visits Nursery

61Some in the St George's community may remember Emma-Louise Beeson from her sensory play 'Sing, Shine, Laugh and Sign' sessions with the Nursery a couple of years ago. Now, we are pleased to welcome her back as a published children's author!

Emma-Louise visited on Wednesday 11 May to share her retelling of the classic Goldilocks fairy-tale, Goldi Locks and the Bears at No. 3. The story explores how Goldi feels as she explores the bears' house and provides context for why she made the choices she did - a new baby at home!

Through Emma-Louise's rhyming words and beautiful watercolour illustrations courtesy of Sam Green, Nursery children were able to identify different emotions and develop their empathy skills.

We wrapped up the visit with a variation on 'If You're Happy and You Know It', inviting children to add their own emotions and actions to the song, and then danced it out to Pharrell's 'Happy' with some moving and shaking!
