Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
It’s been another busy week in Pre-School!
The girls have been busy creating and designing big daffodils for the Daffodil Breakfast and making Mother's Day surprises.
In preparation for Eco Day, we have been learning about recycling and have enjoyed setting up our mini recycling centre, where the girls have had the opportunity to sort paper, glass, metal and plastic items. We discussed recycling our old wellies to plant up with herbs and flowers.
In Numeracy and Mathematics, we have been counting up and down. We have been looking at one-to–one correspondence and number recognition, using number mats and farm animals. We have been looking for the numbers 0-30 in the water tray.
In Literacy and English, we have been learning about the letter and sound 't' in many areas of the nursery environment. Some girls have been showing a keen interest in writing their name using their name stones.
We have been talking about the importance of being kind to one another. We have had Circle Time discussion about what we can do to show kindness to our friends, teachers and families. We will continue to chat about this and use our Kindness Jar.
Our favourite stories this week include Michael Recycle, Sleepy Sam and Come on Daisy.
