Hockey - U13 Tournament

The Lower 4 ‘A’ hockey team travelled to Kilgraston on Saturday 18 March for the U13 Tournament. We were in a tough section with St Mary’s Melrose, Kilgraston, Strathallan and Edinburgh Academy. With the games being only ten minutes long the girls knew they had to perform well from the start. The team played some super attacking hockey, putting all four schools under pressure throughout their matches, finishing joint first in their section. This meant we had to compete in running penalties against St Mary’s Melrose to see who went through top of the group. With Katie in goals we were confident! Rightly so, Katie pulled out some super saves, with Aleeza and Eve scoring their penalties, resulting in St George’s finishing top of the group!

We faced Mary Erskine’s in the semi-final in a 15 minute game. The girls put in another excellent performance, creating exciting chances. Unfortunately we did not convert any of these chances and Mary Erskine’s capitalised on their chance late in the game. The girls should be very proud of their effort and performance throughout the tournament and enjoy finishing the season on a high!
