Lifelong Learning Conference

University Careers 584wThe L6s were engaged fully at their Lifelong Learning Conference on Tuesday 6 June. They took advantage of speaking to Professor McCleery, PhD, Director, Scottish Graduate School of Social Science, University of Edinburgh, who opened the event with her stimulating address: 'Why Higher Education'. They heard about opportunities at the Edinburgh College, about apprenticeships at every level and were given recent updates from Dundee and Edinburgh universities.

We were delighted to welcome back Alice Paterson-Brown, a current medic, and Nicky Anderson, a psychology undergraduate, along with a panel of U6 speakers, who have all made different career choices. Parents attended the evening session and we are grateful to Orlagh, Fiona and Maddy, who shared their sixth form journeys and the opportunities available to all. All L6s are now busy researching courses and are also preparing for their work experience, which takes place before the end of term and into the holidays.
