Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Wednesday, we set out for the Remove trip to the Seabird Centre at North Berwick.
We have made this a regular event where the girls can learn about marine invertebrates and adaptation to this demanding environment. Among other things, the girls found brittle stars, beadlet anemones, sea slugs and even a blenny!
Their favourites, as always, were the hermit crabs who put on a great show, munching through a small dead shore crab. They also enjoyed the afternoon activities, one of which was to design a habitat for various creatures in the sand. All in all it was a very rich learning experience, made even better by the sun shining all day in a very wet week!
