Blogs and News - St George's School For Girls, Edinburgh
On Tuesday 12 September, the Primary 3 girls and their teachers arrived at school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character ready for a day of exciting activities to celebrate Roald Dahl Day.
Inspired by George’s Marvellous Medicine, the girls each made their own ‘marvellous medicines’ designed to have all sorts of wondrous effects on those who might have to drink them. Their labels described the ingredients, dosages, warnings, side-effects and, of course, desired effects! Although these were not always good! Beware!
After listening to excerpts from the ‘The Twits’, disgustingly dirty beards filled the rooms as the girls created 3D portraits of the revolting Mr Twit. Much fun was had filling his beard with all sorts of imaginary bits of food. And there was even more excitement when they each had their own blind-folded attempt at eating ‘Wormy Spaghetti’!
A great day was had by all!
